Canopus 14 x 5” Zelkova Snare Drum

The Canopus Zelkova is Canopus' self proclaimed best snare they make. The care and testing that went into making this drum sound as good as it does has paid off.

Traditionally snare drums are made of multiple plys of wood glued together. The reason for this is having multiple layers glued together dramatically increases the durability of the snare however, this sacrifices its natural resonance.

Canopus' aim with this snare was to retain the natural resonance of a solid piece of wood while improving the durability. After loads of test and experimenting with the bearing edge angles they found the optional design.
