Compared to the 5A model, the 5B stick is stronger in diameter for more powerful playing. In the Hornbeam series, the 5B drumsticks are made from German Hornbeam. This light, fine and open-pored wood is very distinctive both haptically and visually. Therefore, we also refrain from any surface treatment for better moisture control.
