William F. Ludwig founded Ludwig with his brother back in 1909. The brothers, being drummers themselves, understood the increasing needs for this growing industry so began creating drum pedals. These pedals would become their first major selling products and would soon slingshot them into becoming the largest drum company in the world in the 1920s.

In 1937 William F. Ludwig created WFL and began creating drums on a small scale during World war II. After the war he bagan creating drums on a larger scale and after a long battle, bought the Ludwig trademark in 1955. This marked the end of the WFL name.

These items are considered collectors items thanks to the rich history and the important role the WFL name played in Ludwigs large scale success. The rarity of having these items combined with their condition makes them desirable for both players and collectors
