ROGERS 14"x 5" MADE IN ENGLAND BLACK PEARL

Rogers "Made in England" drums were produced under license between 1961 and 1967 at the Boosey & Hawkes factory in Edgware, North London. Created to bypass high import duties, these kits combined Ajax-style shells with Rogers-style hardware, yielding a distinct, warm, and highly collectible vintage sound.

Built using Boosey & Hawkes methods, these drums often utilized 3-ply construction. Early designs featured reinforcement rings. The wood grain typically runs vertically rather than horizontally, which gives them a resonant, deep tone. Because of differing engineering standards, UK-produced hardware parts are generally incompatible with American Rogers parts. Unlike the painted gray or white interiors of American Rogers drums, the English versions featured clear-coated shell interiors.
