In 1909 William F. and Theobald Ludwig founded a company that would become one of the largest drum manufacturers in the world. In the 60s Ludwigs popularity grew substantially as drummers such as John Bonham joined the roster.
Ludwig began making Jazz Festival snare drums in 1956 under the name Barrett Deems. After changing the name in 1960, Ludwig made this snares for a decade due to their popularity. This mint, A grade, collectors item is incredibly rare, especially when you take into consideration its condition.
These 3-ply Mahogany/Poplar/Mahogany shells offer a warm, rich tone with great tuning range confirming the snares versatile status.
