In 1909 William F. and Theobald Ludwig founded a company that would become one of the largest drum manufacturers in the world. In the 60s Ludwigs popularity grew substantially as drummers such as John Bonham joined the roster.

The Down Beat Series was a popular series back in the 60s which saw the 14” x 4” Down Beat Piccolo Snare come to market. This special snare drum is know for its authoritative crack considering its shallow depth. The snare provides great feel and continues to be one of the best snare drums money can buy. If you are looking for a snare with great sensitivity and character this is the snare for you.

This mint, A grade, collectors item is incredibly rare, especially when you take into consideration its condition.
