Re-released with a substantial 1.5mm-thick brass shell, this Canopus snare delivers a powerful, solid and highly responsive sound that goes well beyond what you would expect from its traditional appearance.

The thicker shell provides exceptional projection, rich depth and a balanced mid-to-low frequency response, giving the drum the authority required for modern live performance, recording and studio work. Compared with many conventional Black Beauty-style snares, Canopus has focused heavily on shell thickness, bearing edge design, construction quality and hardware specification to produce a more refined and versatile instrument.

It comes fitted with a baseball-bat-style, 3-position internal muffler, allowing players to quickly control overtones and personalise the response without compromising the natural character of the shell.
