George H. Way Drums was founded in 1956 by George Harrison Way. George Way was heavily involved in the growth of some of the big names in drums. George began his career playing for a circus and as a house drummer for a theater but would soon take the position of lead sales manager at Leedy Drums (who would later go on to become Ludwig Drums). He also worked with Slingerland during this period so it is safe to say George Way knew his stuff.

After accumulating investors, George founded George H. Way Drums and began creating high quality drums using his experience and passion. In 1969 George sadly passed away which was a massive loss to the world of drumming. George H. Way Drums would remain dormant until 2006 when Ron Dunnett would acquire the rights and would continue George’s innovative legacy.

This beautiful kit comes equipped with Art Deco single-ended lugs designed by George Way in 1953. This combined with the Wine Red finish creates a stunning vintage looking drum kit. This rare kit offers a unique, warm sound which is credit to the kits 4-ply Mahogany shells with re-rings.
