Canopus is aware that a thick shell has a large amount of power potential. This snare drum is aimed at drummers looking for great, high quality projective snare. However sometimes a thick shell with plenty of plys loses its natural resonance.
Canopus has countered this by designing a precise bearing edge to allow the snare to sing. They have also added a thin layer of oil to help bring out the power.
